175 pounds and up is the heaviest donation amount.
Good to know! Thanks.
I started donating when I was 18 to get some extra pay while going through college. I am 28 now with a house and considered well to do and I still go. I only stopped going for 1 of the 10 years when I got bruising. I came across your videos looking to see what long term effects if any I can get.
I am planning on making that video on side effects really soon! I appreciate your comment!
It’s so weird seeing it explained… I’ve been donating for 3 years straight, pretty much haven’t missed more than 4 donations and I haven’t really thought about how weird it is
I have been donating for about a year straight and I am am developing a dent in my arm did that happen to you and if not how do you prevent it??
@faith courage and wisdom a dent in the vein where they stick you? Yeah I have that same dent…. Not quite sure if that’s a bad thing… But it hasn’t gotten worse??
Yes in the arm that I donate and it doesn’t feel necessarily worse just uncomfortable I think it may be because I go consistently twice every week. I’ve asked the phlebotomistist how to prevent it from happening and they really didn’t have much information on how to but from other donors that I’ve seen that had it said it’s because they go consistently so I guess I’m not to shocked that it’s happening but I might give it a break for awhile and allow my body to heal and hopefully the dent will go away
@faith courage and wisdom the dent in your arm is scar tissue. I’ve been donating for 3 years straight.
Wow you are dedicated! That’s a lot of donations! It is pretty weird haha
I donated to pay off a $7k credit card bill. I had it paid off in less than 8 months. I also worked full time.
Nice work! That’s impressive!
Wow, nice!
Good job!!
The plasma centers pay significantly more in Southern California! I recently moved to Arizona & it pays less here, but still much higher than Utah.
Dang! Good to know.
I felt the same way when they told me. I worked in a jail. I am amongst hundreds in Atlanta. Who didn’t get it. Crazy!!!!! I wanted that 100!
What’s your blood type?
So interesting! We don’t get paid for donating any type of blood, including plasma, at all in Australia.
That’s what I have heard! That’s interesting. I wonder if that will change if they end up needing more than people are willing to supply freely.
@RonnieRoo22 if you were hurting for money you’d do it as well.
@RonnieRoo22 Funny coming from a person with a lack of knowledge of the economy in America. Rather than blame him, blame our system which makes regular people feel as if donating for money is one of the few plausible side hustles to make it in this country. Be blessed.
That sucks!!!
Here in Florida I donated 2 times a week..880 ml per donation made 10k in one year
Wow that’s awesome!
My plasma place is like $75 a time. So much better here in Florida.
Wow that’s awesome! I should move to Florida! Haha
CA is $150/donation
I get $150 each in Arizona
I had covid and now I donate. Making good money RN.
Very nice!
Good video. I wanted the 100$ too lol ? . I want those antibodies
Thanks! And I know right? Haha
I just donated for the first time got payed $65 and I HAD the virus and they told me ooo you could have gotten paid 100… she tells me after I was done lol
Aww man that is lame :/ yeah I think you have to get tested for COVID antibodies elsewhere and then take those results to your plasma center
@Zach Johnson can I get the Antibodies test done for free if I don’t have insurance, I heard it cost like $200!
Here in some PA parts it’s $150 a week
That’s pretty good!
I’ve been doing it for over 5 years what ever people say who damaging it is, completely false
your still getting way underpaid, considering how much they sell once it’s processed, it’s almost criminal lol.
Yeah for sure! I totally agree.
In New Zealand you give it because you want to help people, not to get paid. You don’t get paid to donate here.
Don’t you feel like a sucker when your altruistic donation somehow ends up being sold at a profit comparable to bottled water which is downright criminal in itself.
It like donating blood. And quick money
@TheCobste it’s a win win. Your helping the community and making money.
I’m been donating for almost 3 years
Wow that’s a long time! ?
Even though you are a poor college student I wouldn’t put your own Heath at risk. There is a body of research saying the negative effects of donating 2x a week. Take care of your health and make sure you supplement to increase your plasma proteins after each donation. I think this is a good side hustle but be careful of the damage to your veins over a course of a year. You can easily make 450 a month doing door dash or other side hustles.
Just want you to be cautious of the side effects.
As long as you take a multivitamin and eat healthy and drink lots of water you should be fine.
You bring up a good point, and I will definitely keep this in mind! Thank you for your concern. My mom would love this comment if she saw it. ?
Make a series please but quick question , if I were to go and ‘donate’ and they offer me the original price, should I just say and be like I had corona do I get payed more ? Should I ask before or after ??
They make you show them your results showing you were positive and a note saying your clear from symptoms because you cant donate until 2 weeks after your symptoms went away.
Yea they asked me for a copy of the test result. I just made 100 today for having antibodies
I am planning on making a series! 🙂 Good question! To become a plasma donor, you have to fill out some paperwork and have a physical examination. During that time I would mention to them that you have had COVID and they will probably test you for the antibodies to confirm. Then you should get paid more assuming your plasma center is paying more to those who formerly had COVID.
I hope I answered your question! I am planning on making a video that explains how to start donating plasma, so please consider subscribing to stay tuned for that! ? I appreciate your comment!
